on people's work environments and workflows revealed that scanning
technology needed to be applied in a way that encouraged customers
to view it as a personal paper management assistant. The paper handling
approach, always-ready interface, and overall versatility created
a new input device as convenient, useful, and as necessary as a mouse
or a keyboard. The resulting product line created a new category and
was widely praised by both consumers and the press for its practicality.
The PaperPort family garnered many industry and business awards including
two MVP awards from PC Computing magazine and an IDEA award from BusinessWeek.
